"Il était une fois" means "Once upon a time" a story, a place, a project, a guest house... Otherwise!

As Candide did (the character of Voltaire - French writer and philosophe), after spending a large part of "my lives" traveling the world, I decided to settle in the Limousin countryside to "Cultivate my garden", reconnect to the essentials, to nature and try to live differently!

This place, in which I welcome you, was the historic house of the foreman of the disused gold mine of Nouzilleras. It is located in the center of a 1.8 hectares plot. It is located less than 10 km north of the center of Saint Yrieix La Perche (87500), in the heart of the Limoges, Brive la Gaillarde, Périgueux triangle, and a stone's throw from the Périgord Limousin regional park. It is a country of art, history and gastronomy established in a green, hilly, sublime and preserved setting. I welcome you to my home, as part of an evolving, global and multiple project.

This project aims in particular to target a certain autonomy in food, water and energy. It incorporates a vegetable garden, an orchard, a greenhouse, a chicken coop, solar panels and is developed by drawing inspiration as much as possible from the principles of Permaculture and low-tech... It wants to be respectful of the environment, of biodiversity , of nature as a whole. I hope it will become a space for sharing, conviviality, raising awareness about the challenges of our time, without jargon, but with respect...

I propose to host you in two bright, comfortable guest rooms, equipped with their bathroom with toilet.

Candide bedroom: On the 1st floor of the house there is a bright bedroom with a view of the park, equipped with a 160x200 (Queen size) bed. It can accommodate one or two people.

Belvedere room: On the 2d and last floor of the house includes a large bright space with a view of the park and the surroundings, equipped with a 160x200 bed, a single bed. It can accommodate one to three people. Additional cost per additional person beyond 2 (max 1)

I put at your disposal indoor and outdoor common areas in which I can make myself available for those who wish, You will also find areas of intimacy, calm, relaxation, conducive to contemplation, introspection and meditation… In addition, the region is perfect for hiking, cycling or horseback riding, or for going green and getting back to your essentials…

"Once upon a time" is the beginning of pretty stories, so welcome to mine, which is enriched by yours!

Details:

• The house has stairs which make it not suitable for young children (safety) or for people with reduced mobility, even moderate (convenience of access).
• It is preferable that visitors get a vehicle.
• Presence of animals on site. It is best if people are comfortable with a dog.
• Clean, small or medium-sized, well-educated dogs are accepted in the Candide room (a deposit may be requested for the duration of the stay).
• Visitors have access to the kitchen (and all the equipment present), the living room, the dining room, as well as all the common areas (not specified as private). A storage shelf can be made available to visitors in the kitchen refrigerator.
• The house is not equipped with swimming pool, air conditioning, television.
• A high-speed WiFi (fiber) is accessible throughout the house and nearby surroundings.
• Arrival / Check in: From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Departure / Check out: Before 11 a.m.
• Depending on the period and the room, a restriction of 2 or 3 night minimum may be applied
• We are not equipped with a credit card terminal. Payments are made in cash upon arrival.
